Saraswati Puja and Republic Day fall on the same day January 26. As a result, colleges and coaching institutes are preparing to celebrate both occasions.

Saraswati Puja is observed on the Panchami Tithi, Magha Shukla Paksha (the fifth day during the waxing phase of the Moon in the Hindu month of Magh) and marks the preparation for the arrival of the spring season.  Ma Saraswati, the goddess of marks the beginning of the spring season, is honoured and prayed to on Basant Panchami. People worship Goddess Saraswati so that she blesses them with enlightenment, and knowledge and helps them get rid of lethargy and ignorance.

The Panchami Tithi will begin on January 25 at 12:34 PM and finish on January 26 at 10:28 AM. Vasant Panchami falls between 07:12 AM and 12:34 PM.
