‘Bhago Modi’: AJYCP Dares PM To Visit Guwahati During Khelo India

The Prime Minister should be ready to face people’s wrath if he visits the state: AJYCP

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be greeted with people’s wrath if he comes to attend the inaugural ceremony of the Khelo India games in Guwahati. This was announced by the Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) on January 5th, 2020 in North Guwahati.

Addressing a huge gathering, AJYCP general secretary Palash Changmai, “If they say (BJP) ‘Khelo Modi, the people of Assam will say ‘Bhago Modi’. The Prime Minister should be ready to face people’s wrath if he visits the state. He must know that we have rejected the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).”

Modi was invited to visit Guwahati to inaugurate the Khelo India Youth Games on January 10th, 2020. With protests against the CAA refusing to die, it is speculated that the Prime Minister might choose to skip the opening ceremony. However, Khelo India is yet to receive any communication in this regard.

Earlier, All Assam Students’ Union has also said that Modi will face massive protest if he visits Guwahati to inaugurate the event on January 10th, 2020.

Despite protests, preparations are going on in full swing to organised the third edition of Khelo India Youth Games in Guwahati successfully. The event will conclude on January 22nd, 2020.

The staff and officials have started arriving in Guwahati. The full dress rehearsal will be held on January 9th, 2020
