Guwahati: The self-styled godman of Bageshwar Dham, Dhirendra Krishna Shastri on Wednesday said that Bharat is already a Hindu nation, just needs an official announcement.

During a media interaction in Guwahati, Shastri said, “India is the Hindu Rashtra without any doubt just need an official announcement.”

He also informed that Bageshwar Dham Sarkar will likely organise a religious congregation in the state.

“I visited the chief minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma, and he asked me to host an event (Katha) here. I will be back to Assam very soon and will plan an event in the land of Ma Kamakhya”, Shastri said.

“To awaken the Sanatani culture in the state, Assam CM Sarma has been invited me to visit the land of Ma Kamakhya and today I have visited here and offered my prayers,” he added.

The religious leader also visited the chief minister’s residence and blessed the chief minister and his family.

The Bageshwar Dham Sarkar said that Sarma took the blessings of Dhirendra Krishna Shastri for the progress and welfare of the people of the North East.

Taking to Twitter, the official account of Bageshwar Dham Sarkar wrote, “On the auspicious occasion of Hindu New Year, the auspicious arrival of the respected government on the special request and request of the Hindu Heart Emperor and the successful Chief Minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma. Honorable Chief Minister took the blessings of the respected government for the progress and welfare of the people of North East.”

Meanwhile, Shastri visited the Kamakhya temple in the city to offer prayers on the first day of the Hindu New Year.

Who is Dhirendra Krishna Shastri?

Dhirendra Krishna Shastri is a 26-year-old self-styled godman of Madhya Pradesh. He is associated with the Bageshwar Dham temple of Madhya Pradesh’s Chhatarpur. Shastri is also known as Bageshwar Dham Sarkar. Shastri has considerable followers in Madhya Pradesh as well as other parts of the country.

Shastri hit headlines after he made a controversial remark saying “support me and I will give you a Hindu nation”.

BJP National General Secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya has supported the demand of the Hindu nation of India by Dhirendra Krishna Shastri of Bageshwar Dham. “The partition of India in 1947 was done on the basis of religion. After which Pakistan became an Islamic nation and the remaining India is a Hindu nation,” Kailash Vijayvargiya said.

Recently, Maharashtra police issued a notice to the organisers to ensure that the preacher does not make any controversial statement, which could lead to possible law and order situation.
