Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb along with the people of Tripura observed the 111th birth anniversary of the architect of the modern Tripura, Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Debbarman Manikya Bahadur at the Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhawan on August 19th, 2019. The people of the state remembered his contribution to the development of Tripura.
“Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore was ‘Bir’ (brave) as well as ‘Bikram’ (valour) as his name was. The late Maharaja was not a man of excuses as he brought a revolutionary change in Tripura. He built the airport, brought banks, opened schools and colleges. Even after being a Hindu himself, he built a Buddha Mandir. He was a man of substance.”
He added, “Maharaja dreamt of a modern Tripura. Likewise, this new government is also trying to achieve this goal. Earlier, the tax revenue of the state was 9.8 per cent, now it has increased to 26 per cent. The CD ratio was earlier 49 per cent, now it has increased to 66 per cent. The state’s GDP is also improving. Our state is not lagging behind.”
Paid tribute to Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya on his 111th birth anniversary at BJP Tripura State office Agartala with my party colleagues and dedicated Karyakartas.
