As the campaigning for the remaining two phases of Lok Sabha elections in Assam is underway, Congress candidate Bobbeeta Sharma and Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Queen Oja for Guwahati Lok Sabha constituency were spotted sharing light moments as they soak in Rongali Bihu spirit together at the Guwahati Bihu Sanmilani at Latasil here on April 14th, 2019.
Dressed in mekhela chador, both the candidates were seen exchanging greetings on the occasion of Bihu. Rongali Bihu, the most colourful festival of Assam started on April 14th, 2019 with a large number of people taking part in Bihu dance and songs.
Assam’s most prominent All Assam Students’ Union organised the annual Mukoli Bihu at the historic Judges’ Field in Guwahati with different colourful programmes.
The traditional Bihu dance and traditional dances and songs of different communities in Assam and other parts of the northeast reverberated across the State.
Gauhati Lok Sabha constituency which includes Dudhnoi, Boko, Chaygaon, Palashbari, Hajo, Jalukbari, Dispur, Gauhati East, Gauhati West, Barkhetri will go on polls on April 23rd, 2019. In 2014 Lok Sabha Election, Bijoya Chakravarty won with a huge margin of votes and became the MP of Gauhati parliamentary seat.
