The Ministry of Home Affairs is going to sign a fresh peace accord with all factions of the National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) and All Bodo Students’ Union (ABSU) on January 27th, 2020 in New Delhi.
The tripartite agreement will be signed in the presence of Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, top leaders of the four factions of the NDFB, representative of ABSU, People’s Joint Action Committee for Boroland Movement, Joint Secretary in the Home Ministry Satyendra Garg and Assam Chief Secretary Kumar Sanjay Krishna.
The four factions of the NDFB, which will sign the pact, are led by Ranjan Daimary, Govinda Basumatary, Dhiren Boro and B Saoraigwra. The agreement will be signed sans the outfit”s key demand of a separate Bodoland state or union territory.
All stakeholders of the Bodoland movement are camping in Delhi. NDFB chief Ranjan Daimary, who was serving life imprisonment in the 2008 serial bomb blasts case, was also released on bail and flew to Delhi on January 25th, 2020 to take part in the talks.
