Boost To Congress In Nagaland, 21 Estranged Leaders Return

The Nagaland Congress, strengthened by the return of 21 senior leaders, vowed to put up a united fight against the BJP-NDPP government in the state in the forthcoming Lok Sabha election. The five-time chief minister and senior leader SC Jamir, while welcoming the leaders who made comeback to Congress, said, “Congress, today is solidified”.

The leaders are former Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) president S I Jamir, former speaker Z Lohe and former deputy speaker Joshua Sumi. Jamir claimed, “The Congress is a party with a vision and clear ideology. It can never be uprooted.” He further asked the Congress workers to be active and propagate its programmes.

“Congress workers should have the courage, to tell the truth to the people, and articulate very clearly that we can serve, help and lead the people,” he said. Jamir, while stating that the Naga society is in “delirium”, alleged that the ruling NDPP dispensation was only “a stop-gap arrangement” to “fool” the people.
