BPF-BJP To Fight LS Polls In Mutual Understanding: Hagrama Mohilary

Kokrajhar, March 7, 2019

Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) chief Hagrama Mohilary on March 7th, 2019 said the party’s alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will continue in the forthcoming 17th Lok Sabha election. “The alliance between BPF and BJP has not collapsed and will continue in this Lok Sabha election also,” Mohilary said. He denied any possibility of forging an alliance with the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP).

Mohilary informed that the BPF will field its candidate in Kokrajhar Lok Sabha seat only and will extend support to the alliance BJP in other seats of the state. Mohilary further informed that the party will hold its central working committee (CWC) meeting on March 10th, 2019 to finalise the candidate’s name after the declaration of the election schedule by the Election Commission of India. Mohilary expressed hope for the party impressive performance in the LS election this year.

Besides, talking about the Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma’s party National People’s Front’s step in Assam politics, Mohilary said, “NPP will not put any impact in this election.”

Mohilary inaugurated the newly constructed Bodoland Guest House at Kajalgaon in Chirang district. He also laid the foundation stone of the sub-divisional office at Bijni in Chirang and Gosaigaon in Kokrajhar district.
