BPF Cannot Even Win A Single Seat In BTC General Elections: Naba Kumar Sarania

A change in the BTAD region is the need of the hour: Naba Kumar Sarania

Assam’s Kokrajhar parliamentarian Naba Kumar Sarania on February 24th, 2020, said that the Hagrama Mohilary-led Bodoland Peoples’ Front cannot even win a single seat in the Bodoland Territorial council’s general election.

“Hagrama Mohilary has fielded a total of 15 candidates for the BTC general elections. Unfortunately, not a single candidate can win the elections. No one can save Mohilary this time,” the MP said while expressing his confidence over forming the government.

Talking about any possibility of forging an alliance for the general elections, Sarania said, “We will not forge an alliance with any party for the elections. We will field candidates in all the constituencies.”

Besides, talking about former All Bodo Students’ Union (ABSU) President Pramod Boro’s joining the United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL), the MP said, “He (Pramod Boro) cannot be chief of the council. Even, ruling Bharatiya Janata Party and the Congress cannot form the government in the council.”

Emphasising a much needed ‘change’ in the BTAD region, Sarania said, “A change in the region is the need of the hour. People want development.”

Sarania made a number of promises including the eradication of unemployment to fulfil if his government forms the BTC government. “We will establish a cultural centre along the Assam-Bhutan border. Our government will try hard to boost the Assam-Bhutan trade,” he added.
