Breaking: Akhil Gogoi’s health deteriorates, admitted to GMCH

Guwahati: After being tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday, Sibsagar MLA Akhil Gogoi has been admitted to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) on Monday as his health condition deteriorated.

According to reports, Gogoi’s oxygen level dropped due to which he was brought to GMCH and is currently undergoing treatment.

Meanwhile, the doctor’s attending to the MLA said that he would be released from the hospital by evening.

Earlier on Saturday, Akhil Gogoi confirmed that all the members of his family were tested positive for the COVID-19.

Later, he too was tested positive for the virus following which he was under home quarantine. Gogoi postponed all his official works, party-related works etc for at least five days.
