BREAKING: APCC serves show cause notice to Raha MLA Sashikanta Das
Guwahati: Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) issued show cause notice to Congress Raha MLA Sashikanta Das for allegedly offering support to BJP government.
On Monday, Das reportedly visited chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma at the latter’s residence and expressed his desire to work with the BJP led government.
Sarma said that Das has visited him as a legislator and there was no discussion of him moving into BJP.
In a letter to Das, APCC general secretary Bobbeeta Sharma said, “It has come to the notice of APCC President Sri Bhupen Kumar Borah that you have made statements in full view of media offering your support to the BJP government and publicly showing your allegiance to the state BJP president Bhabesh Kalita and CM Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma.”
“Your statements and actions have created misgivings in the minds of party workers and tarnished party image and party discipline. In view of the above APCC President has show caused you to clarify your stand and intentions within 24 hours,” the letter added.
Earlier during the day, state CM, the BJP president and other have also met Das amidst the ongoing winter session of Assam Assembly.
