Guwahati: In view of the increase in the mortality in COVID 19 patients during the past two weeks in the state, the Government of Assam is likely to impose more restrictions by Monday.
Speaking to the media in this regard, Health Minister Keshab Mahanta said, “We are going to take some major decisions by Monday. Already we have imposed several restrictions in the state. If necessary, the state government might restrict inter-district travelling for some days in order to minimize the caseload of COVID-19.”
The final decision on the issue will be taken on Monday, informed Minister Mahanta.
Meanwhile, updating about the COVID -19 scenario in Assam, Chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated that on Sunday, the state recorded another new 3650 positive cases out of 42,884 tests.
Kamrup Metro district alone reported 1197 cases.
The positivity rate on Sunday stands at 8.51%, whereas, the recovery rate at 85.73%.
Tragically, another 56 Covid-19 patients succumbed to the virus till evening.
