Guwahati: Assam to introduce a compulsory book on the background and history of the state’s first chief minister Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi in higher secondary courses.
The announcement came on Thursday as the state observed his 71st death anniversary as ‘Karmachari Divas’.
Chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma at a tribute ceremony held at his samadhisthal here, announced, “In recognition to the immense role of Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi, state government will introduce a book at the higher secondary level to be compulsorily read by the students.”
