Ban On Loud Music After 10 Pm In Guwahati

The flying squads will monitor hotels, restaurants, pubs and discotheques in Guwahati

The Kamrup (M) district administration and Guwahati Police have imposed a complete on playing loud music after 10 pm on New Year’s eve in the city.

“The defaulter will invite punitive action against them. Complaints can be lodged with police against the defaulter,” said Commissioner of Police, Guwahati Munna Prasad Gupta.

He informed that “50 sensitive spots” in the city will be under the scanner. “The flying squads will monitor city hotels, restaurants, pubs and discotheques,” Gupta said.

The Guwahati Police and the Kamrup (Metropolitan) district administration have formed special flying squads to check drunken-driving, peddling of drugs and other untoward activities on the New Year’s eve in the city.

The deputy commissioners of police (DCPs) and traffic department have been directed to keep a tab on the two-wheelers on the city roads as well as the highways. The traffic personnel have been asked to keep a close eye on the rules violators, especially the motorists.
