    Breaking: Burglars Break Into NRC Seva Kendra In Guwahati

    Guwahati: A group of burglars in the late-night hours of July 30th, 2019 broke into the Narengi LP School, NRC Seva Kendra in Guwahati and caused damage to several important documents, reports said.

    The group entered the room through its entrance door breaking its lock and vandalized the room. Several files, papers were found scattered on the floor by the NRC officials today morning.

    Although no documents were reported missing from the Seva Kendra till the filing of this news piece, a police team have reached the spot and are investigating the matter.

    “We found several papers, files scattered on the floor today morning and have taken into consideration that some burglars might have broken into the office,” said an NRC official here.

    Meanwhile, a sensation has triggered among the people post the burglary.

    It may be mentioned that the Supreme Court on July 23rd, 2019  extended the deadline for publication of the final National Register of Citizens (NRC) from July 31st, 2019 to now August 31st, 2019.

    On the midnight of December 31st, 2017, partial draft of the NRC was released and subsequently on July 30th, 2018, the complete draft NRC was released. A total of 28,983,677 persons were found eligible out of 32,991,384 applicants in the final draft of the NRC.
