    Breaking: Cachar SP, Dholai OC receives bullet injuries in Assam-Mizoram border clash

    Assam Pradesh Congress Committee expresses grave concern that Cachar SP has been injured. APCC condemns the attack: Bobbeeta Sharma, Chairperson, Media Department

    Guwahati: As many as 30 police personnel including the Cachar Superintendent of police, Nimbalkar Vaibhav Chandrakant and the Dholai officer in charge reportedly received bullet injuries during the Assam-Mizoram border clash on Monday.

    All the injured police personnel including the Cachar SP and Dholai OC has been shifted to Silchar Medical College Hospital (SMCH) for better medication.

    Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday reiterated that Assam will maintain the status quo and peace between the borders of our state.

    Owing to the border dispute on both sides at the Lailapur area of Cachar district, Assam CM also expressed his willingness to visit the capital city of Aizawl for a discussion if needed.

    Taking to Twitter, CM Sarma said, “I have just spoken to Hon’ble Chief Minister @ZoramthangaCM ji.I have reiterated that Assam will maintain the status quo and peace between the borders of our state. I have expressed my willingness to visit Aizawl and discuss these issues if need be.”

    To which, Mizoram CM Zoramthanga replied back saying, “Hon’ble @himantabiswa ji, as discussed I kindly urge that Assam Police @assampolice be instructed to withdraw from Vairengte for the safety of civilians.”

    Meanwhile, Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC)  vehemently condemned the firing on Assam State police personnel in Mizoram – Assam border.

    “Assam Pradesh Congress Committee expresses grave concern that Cachar SP has been injured. APCC condemns the attack,” said Bobbeeta Sharma, Chairperson, Media Department, Assam Pradesh Congress Committee in a press statement.
