BREAKING: Central team to visit Assam for flood assessment

The team will visit Goalpara and Bongaigaon districts as well as Nagaon and Hojai districts simultaneously

GUWAHATI: An inter-ministerial central team to visit Assam for flood and landslide damage assessment next week.

The high-level team headed by Shri Sandeep Poundrik. IAS. Additional Secretary (Mitigation). NDMA will visit flood-affected districts of Assam between November 23 to 25 for on-spot assessment of flood and landslide damage during the current year.

As per the travel plan, the first team will visit Goalpara and Bongaigaon districts and the second team will visit Nagaon and Hojai districts simultaneously on the same dates.

In Assam, this year over 133 persons drowned in over three waves of flood and over 40 lakhs were affected.
