Congress shortlisted four more candidates from Assam for the ensuing Lok Sabha elections.
Assam Pradesh Congress Committee Vice President and senior Congress leader Pradyut Bordoloi will contest from Nagaon. Former bureaucrat MGVK Bhanu will contest from Tezpur constituency. He is considered as a strong contender on Congress ticket against Bharatiya Janata Party.
Sitting MP Bhubaneshwar Kalita will contest from Mangaldoi and Anil Borgohain from Lakhimpur. On March 15th, 2019, the party had released its third list of 18 candidates. Out of which five are from Assam, two from Meghalaya and one each from Nagaland, Sikkim.
The party has fielded former Meghalaya chief minister Mukul Sangma from the Tura Parliamentary constituency. All India Mahila Congress chief Sushmita Dev has been given the ticket from the Silchar Lok Sabha seat and Gaurav Gogoi from the Kaliabor seat in Assam.
Former Union Ministers Vincent H Pala and Paban Singh Ghatowar have also been fielded from Shillong and Dibrugarh, Assam.
