Guwahati: The curfew timings in the Guwahati city are likely to be revised from next Thursday onwards, claimed the highly placed sources.
As per the sources, the state disaster management authority (SDMA) might relax the curfew timings till 6 pm from June 24, 2021, onwards.
If implemented, then all the shops and other business establishments, etc shall operate in the city till 5 pm.
Though, the capital city of Guwahati did not get any respite on Monday as the state disaster management authority (SDMA) issued the latest standard operating procedure (SOP) and said that curfew timing in the city to continue from 2 PM onwards like now.
However, the sources informed that due to the declining trend in positive casein the city, the state disaster management authority (SDMA) might come up with a revised SOP by Thursday.
It may be mentioned that the official confirmation on the matter is awaited.
On the other hand, districts namely South Salmara, Majuli, Bongaigaon, Chirang, Udalguri, West Karbi Angling, Dima Hasao and Charaideo have recorded less than 400 cases cumulatively in the last 10 days, thus, the lockdown like condition was relaxed and curfew timing would continue from 5 PM to 5 AM from June 22 onwards.
The health department, however, has kept a close eye on the situation of districts like Cachar, Tinsukia, Dibrugarh, Sonitpur and Nagaon.
Furthermore, the inter district transport continued to remain suspended.
