    BREAKING: Dry Days Declared in Guwahati

    Dry days will also be in force on the day of the counting of votes on May 2 and the day of re-poll if any

    Guwahati: The Kamrup (metro) district administration has declared dry days from 6 pm of April 4 (Sunday) to 6 pm of April 6 (Tuesday) in view of the third phase of polls. All liquor shops, bars, clubs, pubs, warehouses and bonds would be closed during the period.

    The four urban constituencies of Kamrup metro election district-Jalukbari, Dispur, Gauhati East and Gauhati West- would go to polls on April 6.

    The order said that dry days will also be in force on the day of the counting of votes which is fixed on May 2, 2021, till the process of counting is over and including the day of re-poll if any.

    The metro administration order said, “During this period, the Possession/Distribution/Sale of liquor is completely prohibited. All the Wholesale/Bonded Warehouses, IMFL Retail “OFF” and “ON” shops including Club “ON”, Hotel “ON” and Country Spirit Shops located at above places still remain closed during this period. Any violation of the above will be dealt into stringent action as per law.”
