GUWAHATI: Former Congress leader Dulu Ahmed to join the newly floated Assam Jatiya Parishad (AJP) on Sunday. Ahmed, a veteran politician, believed to be joining the party led by former All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) leader Lurinjyoti Gogoi along with over 10,000 of his supporters.
Ahmed has resigned from Congress in August last year after the party accused him of anti-party activities. He was with Congress for over 22 years.
Dulu Ahmed said that Congress would face a disastrous defeat in the ensuing 2021 assembly elections due to the inefficiency of the present leadership.
