    BREAKING: Fake CBI Officer Arrested in Guwahati

    The accused person has demanded Rs. 3 lakh from one Joonmoni Barthakur

    GUWAHATI: Assam Police on Saturday arrested one ‘fake’ Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officer from a hotel in the city’s Paltanbazar area.

    Police have identified the arrested person as one Nurulah alias Rahul alias Sakil Sheikh from Purshurah in Hoogli district of West Bengal.

    “He was apprehended from one hotel of Paltanbazar on the basis of FIR submitted by one Joonmoni Barthakur stating that the accused person has demanded Rs. 3 lakh and asked her to pay the amount by today. The accused person had introduced himself as a CBI officer,” police said.

    A case vide Paltanbazar PS case has been registered and further action will be taken, police added.
