Fake Notes Of Face Value Of Rs 7 Lakh Seized, 3 Held In Lakhimpur

The Lakhimpur Police on January 2nd, 2020 seized fake currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs 2000 denominations with a face value of Rs 7 lakh.

A team led by the district police chief, Rajveer launched an operation to bust the fake notes smuggling racket. The seizure was made near the Asam Sahitya Sabha Bhawan.

The police also arrested three smugglers from different locations – Moinuddin, Mohidul Islam and Sahidul Islam.

Six mobile phone sets and a Maruti Alto car was also seized by the Lakhimpur police. A case has been registered at North Lakhimpur Police Station.

The arrested three persons are presently being interrogated in North Lakhimpur Police Station.
