An FIR has been lodged against a BJP leader in Assam’s Baksa district, Dharmanarayan Das for allegedly attacking a family including women during uruka festivities on January 14th, 2020.

Das is an MCLA of No 27 Nagrijuli Parishad under the Tamulpur Constituency. The incident took place at Guabari. The locals alleged that Das attacked Sanjay Biswas, his mother Monju Biswas and other family members for an argument during a community feat.

As per reports, the family members of Biswas and Das engaged in a heated argument during a community feasting organised by the villagers. Later in the night, Das allegedly visited Biswas’ residence with his “goons” and attacked the persons present in the house.

While trying to stop Das from vandalising the house, a local resident Shambu Biswas was brutally attacked on his head, locals said. The local villagers also alleged that Das and his men set ablaze household items like chairs and utensils. Das’ nephew Dipankar Dutta has also been named in the FIR.
