GUWAHATI: Acting on a tip off, Assam Police CID on Wednesday in an operation at city’s Islampur area near Haji Musafir Khana, succeeded to seize a huge consignment of party drugs.
The seizure included some 30,000 methamphetamine tablets. The CID has also nabbed a suspected drug smuggler identified as one Majibur Rahman Mandal of Chapar in Dhubri district.
Guwahati “In this regard, a case is being registered at CID PS. An auto rickshaw in which the apprehended accused person was carrying the illegal consignment has also been seized by the CID team,” said CID sources.
The approximate market value of the seized tablets was around Rs. 45 lakhs.
