    BREAKING: Kamrup (Metro) DC Biswajit Pegu Tested COVID19 Positive

    Pegu has been seen with top state ministers including chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal recently during the Independence Day celebration

    GUWAHATI: Kamrup (Metro) Deputy Commissioner Biswajit Pegu tested positive of COVID19 on Monday. Pegu tested positive during a regular health check-up at Gauhati Medical College Hospital (GMCH).

    The deputy commissioner was reportedly asymptomatic and healthy. “He is likely to be admitted at GMCH,” said metro administration sources.

    Pegu has been seen with top state ministers including chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal recently during the August 15 Independence Day celebration at Judges’ field.    

    Official sources said that at last 10 officials of the metro district administration office have been tested positive of COVID 19 including top officials.  

    Those who came in contact with Pegu recently has been asked to undergo COVID 19 tests.
