GANGTOK: The Calcutta-Pakyong-Calcutta flight services resumed from Monday after Delhi-Pakyong Delhi last month.

This was a new milestone in Sikkim’s aviation history as two aircraft one is from Kolkata and Delhi landed at Pakyong airport on the same day.

This was the first time two flights landed in the airport on a single day.

Earlier only one flight used to land that is either from Kolkota and Delhi but on Monday two flights landed at Pakyong back to back.

Last month Spicejet Bombardier Q 400 Passenger flight from Delhi successfully landed at Pakyong Airport in Sikkim, almost 20 months after all commercial operations had been suspended because of various reasons.

That was the first commercial flight between Delhi and Pakyong, which is about 35km from Gangtok. Earlier, SpiceJet used to operate flights between Pakyong and Calcutta and Pakyong and Guwahati.
