    BREAKING: Mini Secretariat for Barak Valley gets Notified

    Chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal had laid the foundation of the secretariat in 2019 March

    GUWAHATI: Assam government on Saturday notified the mini secretariat for Barak valley. The mini secretariat was a long pending demand of the people living in the Barak valley region.  

    Chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal had laid the foundation of the secretariat in 2019 March.

    “In the interest of Public Service and to bring the administration to the doorstep of the citizens and for execution, supervision and monitoring of all developmental works of Barak Valley, the Government of Assam has notified a Mini Secretariats, Barak Valley at Silchar,” said an official communiqué.

    The mini secretariats has come up on a 16 bighas of land at Srikona, about 8 kms south-west of Silchar.

    The CoM had decided to start the Mini Secretariat in Barak Valley (Silchar) with six departments: Personnel, R &DM, GAD, Agriculture, Fisheries, AH&V Dept.
