Guwahati, May 16, 2019

The Burmese army on May 16th, 2019 reportedly launched a counter-insurgency operation at four mobile camps of the banned militant outfit United Liberation Front of Assam, Independent (ULFA-I) at Huawei in Konyak region and on NSCN (K) camp at Hasik region.

No casualties have been reported so far. The cadres reportedly fled the spot after the attack.

The ULFA-I camp was located near the headquarters of the banned militant outfit National Socialist Council of Nagaland-Khaplang (NSCN-K).

As per reports, following the grenade blast in Guwahati on May 15th, 2019, which left 12 people injured, the Indian Government put pressure on the Myanmar government to act against the banned outfit.
