    BREAKING: NIA charge-sheeted 3 NDFB(S) militants in Adl SP Gulzar Hussain ambush case

    Two other NDFB cadres who were involved in the crime have been already killed in separate encounters

    GUWAHATI:  The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed the charge sheet before the NIA special court here, against three National Democratic Front of Boroland (NDFB) militants in connection with the killing of Gulzar Hussain, then additional SP, Sonitpur, on January 28, 2014 allegedly by NDFB terrorists

    The three accused identified as Bishnu Narzary alias Berama,  Nitul Daimary alias Naihab and Runiluish Diamary alias Monthai were booked under section 16,18,20 of Unlawful Activities (P) Act read with section 34,120B,302,307 and 326 of Indian Penal Code and section 27 of Arms Act.

    The case was initially registered with Dhekiajuli Police relating to an ambush that resulted in the death of Hussain and a civilian Anlark Basumatary, and injured several other police personnel. Subsequently, the NIA had taken over the investigation.

    “The investigation of the case has revealed that the members of NDFB-S had laid the ambush which resulted in the death of the then ASP, Sonitpur District and one civilian besides injuring several other police personnel. Two of the charge-sheeted accused in the instant case, namely, Bishnu Narzary and Nitul Daimary have also been convicted in another case wherein Bishnu Narzary has been given death sentence and Nitul Daimary has been sentenced to life imprisonment,” said NIA in a statement.  

    Two other NDFB cadres Kham Kham Daimary alias Lotham and Junu Basumatary alias B Sijou alias Sijou who were involved in the crime have been already killed in separate encounters with security forces.
