    BREAKING: ‘Partial’ Dry Day in Guwahati on Holi

    The district administration said that any violation of the order would be dealt seriously

    GUWAHATI: The Kamrup (metro) district administration has restricted the sale of India made foreign liquor (IMFL) and country spirits in the city on March 28 in view of the Holi festivities.

    In an order, the metro district administration has ordered that all the wine shops, bars, clubs and pubs in the city would remain close till 4 pm on Sunday.

    “In exercising power conferred under section 52(1) of Assam Excise Act, 2000, the undersigned hereby declares that at the retail ‘ON’/’OFF’/Club licenses and all the Country Spirit shops of Kamrup Metropolitan District will remain closed till 4 P.M. on 28th March 2021 for the preservation of Public peace in view of the Holi festival,” said the order signed by the deputy commissioner, Kamrup metropolitan district, Guwahati.

    The district administration said that any violation of the order would be dealt seriously.
