Guwahati: In a tragic incident, a cancer patient at Northeast Cancer Hospital in Guwahati’s Jorabat area allegedly committed suicide on Thursday night, a source said.
The deceased patient identified as Padma Chetri was a resident of the North Lakhimpur district.
The exact cause of death is yet to be ascertained.
An initial investigation of the case revealed that no suicide note was found from the patient’s cabin no. 201.
A police team has reached the hospital and started an investigation.
