Breaking: SEBA potstones HSLC exam due to COVID-19
Guwahati: In light of rising COVID-19 cases in Assam, the Board of Secondary Education (SEBA) has postponed the HSLC and High Madrassa examinations.
In an order, SEBA stated, “The revised schedule of the said Examination shall be announced shortly after consultation with the Health department.”
The HSLC examination was scheduled to be held from May 11, 2021.
The authorities informed that the exam will be conducted once the COVID situation improves in the state.
Meanwhile, Assam registered new 4,489 COVID-19 cases on Monday, pushing the state’s tally to 26,477 active cases.
The new cases were detected out of the 55,939 tests conducted. The highest cases were reported from Kamrup Metro (1,645), Dibrugarh (460), Kamrup Rural (239), Nagaon (201) and Nalbari (201). The case positivity rate is 8.02 per cent.
The state has also recorded 29 deaths on the day from Kamrup Metro (13), Dibrugarh (4), Karimganj (3), Udalguri (2), Bongaigaon (1), Cachar (1), Goalpara (1), Kamrup Rural (1), Nalbari (1), Sonitpur (1), Tinsukia (1).
