Guwahati: The Nagaon police have detained at least 22 people and arrested six persons including two women in connection to the sensational Batadrava riot.

According to the latest development, all the six arrested persons have been produced before the court on Monday.

The court has sent all six prime accused in the Batadrava incident to 4-day police custody, though the police had sought their police custody for 14 days.

The arrested persons were identified as Mujibur Rahman, Rafiqul Islam, Anwar Hussain, Rashida Khatun, Sabina Khatun (minor) and Anwar Hussain.

On the other hand, the Nagaon police had raided the residence of one alleged drug peddler Mozibur and recovered narcotic drugs from his possession last night.

In another raid at the residence of a hardcore dacoit identified as Inamul, the police recovered one pistol and four rounds of live ammunition from his possession.

Police sources informed that Mozibur was arrested, while, Inamul managed to flee from the spot.

It is learned that both the criminals namely Inamul and Mujibur are involved in more than one case and were arrested in the past by Dhing Police.
