Guwahati: In a shocking incident a tenant in city’s Japrigog area allegedly killed his landlord on Friday morning.

The deceased, a 75 year old retired government official identified as Hemdhor Baruah, was allegedly hacked by his tenant named Dharani Deka.

Deka has already surrendered before the Dispute police in the city after committing the crime. He reportedly also deposited the machete used in the murder.

Police sources said that Deka has claimed that he has killed Baruah as the landlord was allegedly misbehaved with his wife.

The murder reportedly occurred on the terrace of the building they were residing at Japrigog at around 11.15 AM. The deceased’s body was recovered from the terrace. His body found dead by his wife.

The accused Deka, who is in his 40, worked at a private news channel as a DTP operator.
