Breaking: Two Nabbed From Upper Assam For Alleged Links With ULFA-I

Guwahati: Ahead of the Independence day celebrations, the Assam police in continuation with their security check picked-up three more persons from parts of Upper Assam over their alleged links with the banned militant outfit United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent (ULFA-I), led by fugitive Paresh Baruah on August 8th, 2019.

The three of them are Biju Bori (writer of a book on the history of Maoist), Kiran Sarmah and Amlon Hazarika. The police after interrogating the trio released Biju Bori.

It may be mentioned that the Assam Police on August 7th, 2019 had arrested four persons including two females for their links with the ULFA-I. They were held from the areas of Golaghat, Sonari and Dibrugarh.

The police informed that they recovered ULFA flag, Naxal literature and seized mobile phones from their possession.

It may be mentioned that the Assam Police has earlier said that the rebel outfit is trying to motivate and influence the young minds, academically brilliant students to work as moles for various operational work like surveying targets through different techniques.
