Broad daylight robbery in Guwahati; Miscreants loots cash Rs 5 lakh
Guwahati: Two bike-borne miscreants looted Rs 5 lakh from a four-wheeler vehicle parked outside the State Bank of India in Guwahati’s Kahilipara area on Thursday afternoon.
According to reports, a government official namely Paresh Sarma had withdrawn the amount from his savings account at the SBI bank Kahilipara branch.
Speaking to the media, victim Sarma said, “I kept the money beneath the front seat of my car when suddenly two bike-borne miscreants in a Pulsar bike came towards me saying some cash has fallen down from my pocket as soon as I turned back they snatched the money from inside the car. A girl from the opposite direction spotted them and noted the registration number of the bike. Both the miscreants seem to be non-Assamese.”
An investigation into the matter has been initiated by city police and further details are yet to be received.
