Accused Neeraj Bishnoi

Guwahati: A Mumbai sessions court granted bail to three accused in the Bulli Bai App case–Neeraj Bishnoi, Aumkareshwar Thakur, and Neeraj Singh who were accused of advertising several vocal Muslim women for an online auction.

According to the police Neeraj Bishnoi who is from Assam was the creator of the Bulli Bai application while Aumkareshwar Thakur had provided the source code for the application and Neeraj Singh allegedly circulated pictures.

The Mumbai police took all the three accused into custody in January 2022. They were earlier arrested in cases registered at Delhi and Hyderabad and have been granted bail in those cases as well.

The court while accepting that the offences the accused were charged with were not heinous, contended that the repercussions of granting bail to the three accused couldn’t be ignored.
