Guwahati: In a sensational incident a businessman was allegedly shot dead by unidentified miscreants in Assam’s Dhubri district on Wednesday.
The incident took place in Bilasipara area in the district.
The deceased has been identified as Baser Ali, who was an established businessman.
As per sources, he was shot at point blank range at Bhairabganj area of Bilasipara and died on spot.
However, the miscreants later managed to fled from the area.
Following the incident, local police reached the scene and sent the body for post-mortem reports.
The police team recovered an empty cartridge from the crime scene.
According to sources, it is suspected that the businessman was killed over a financial dispute. However, the exact reason is yet to ascertained.
Police have apprehended three suspects regarding the incident.
Further investigation is underway.
