Asaduddin Owaisi To Hoist National Flag On Jan 25 Midnight At Charminar

Owaisi asked people to make a one-minute video of them reading the Preamble of the Constitution

In protest against the controversial Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), All India Majilis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi has announced that he will unfurl the national flag at historic Charminar in Hyderabad on January 25th, 2020 midnight, the eve of the Republic Day.

Owaisi also mentioned that a massive rally against CAA will be organised in Hyderabad on January 10th, 2020. The rally will begin from Mir Alam Eidgah and will conclude at Shastripuram grounds.

“We are not against granting citizenship to persecuted people from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan, but this should not be done on the basis of religion. CAA aims to dismantle India as a secular state and replace it with a Hindu Rashtra,” he said.

He added, “As the clock strikes 12, we will unfurl the tricolour in front of Charminar, we will also sing the National Anthem and take an oath to defend the Republic.”

Owaisi also asked people to make a one-minute video of them reading the Preamble of the Constitution and demanding that Prime Minister Narendra Modi scrap the CAA. He wanted the videos to be circulated on social media platforms on January 26th, 2020.

Referring to attack on Nankana Sahib Gurdwara in Pakistan, he asked Prime Minister Imran Khan to take action against the stone pelter.

“No power on earth can take away my Indian-ness and my religious identity because #MeraSamvidhan guarantees me the right to freedom of religion. Imran Khan, please protect the Sikhs and take action against the mob that pelted stones at Gurdwara Nankana Sahib,” he tweeted.
