    Cabinet to prioritise people’s interest, parties view regarding BTR elections: Assam CM

    Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal said that cabinet would note the views of the parties and would also prioritise the interest of the people while taking any decision in the upcoming cabinet meeting.

    Guwahati: Charing a all party meeting regarding Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) elections in Guwahati Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal said that cabinet would note the views of the parties and would also prioritise the interest of the people while taking any decision in the upcoming cabinet meeting.

    Sarbananda Sonowal in the meeting, held in Guwahati on Tuesday, said that both the government and opposition must work together for serving the people of Assam.

    The Assam CM also stressed on the need to work with ‘Team Assam’ spirit by all the stakeholders, cutting across political affiliations to take forward the democratic system in the state.

    The meeting was called following the direction of the chief minister, as a proposal was submitted to the chief minister to hold the BTR election in December in view of possibility of rapid increase in the spread of Coronavirus in the forthcoming festive season, health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated in the meeting.

    Industries Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary, Agriculture Minister Atul Bora, PHED Minister Rihan Daimary, WPTBC Department Minister Chandan Brahma along with several other ministers and top officials of the state government attended the meeting.
