Central govt sends to Mizoram to take stock of situation of Omicron

Guwahati: Bharti Pawar, the Union Minister of State for Health has stated that the Central govt has sent teams to Mizoram, Maharashtra and Kerala, where there have been numerous cases of New Variant Omicron and Covid-19.

According to sources, the Center has dispatched teams to Mizoram Maharashtra and Kerala which are becoming progressively infested with Omicron and Covid-19, to assess the situation and report back to the Center.

If necessary, the state government can set tight restrictions on the background of Omicron virus.

In view of the danger of Omicron, the state administration intends to establish restricted areas – cantonment zones – in accordance with requirements as well as impose strict regulations, she added.

It should be mentioned that 141 new variants of Omicron have been reported in the state, the most of which have been found in Mumbai, posing a challenge to the health administration.
