GUWAHATI: Extending its humanitarian services at this time of crisis, Marwari Sammelan, a city-based volunteer organisation on Wednesday donated 11 oxygen cylinders to Marwari Hospitals, located at Athgaon, here.
In an inaugural functioned organised at the hospital premises, Sammelan’s member Summeral Dungarwal handed over the cylinders formally to the hands of the hospital management which was received by Marwari Hospitals General Secretary R.S. Joshi and Hospital Superintendant Rohit Upadhayay.
Joshi said, “Many needy patients approach for oxygen cylinders which have been provided in our best capacity. With this addition of 21 oxygen cylinders, we would be in a position to help more needy patients. We are grateful to Marwari Sammelan, Guwahati Branch, for their kindness and sincere support towards our hospital. The donation of 11 oxygen cylinders during this pandemic situation of Covid-19 will be a great help.”
He further said, “With the starting of Covid-19 ward at Marwari Hospitals, oxygen consumption has visibly also increased. So, these additional cylinders will strengthen us in providing oxygen to the needy patients during an emergency.”
Attending the inaugural function, Pradeep Bhuwalka, representative of the Sammelan, highlighted that another 10 oxygen cylinders will be donated in the next few days to the hospital.
