City police rescues girl from Bihar, alleged trafficker arrested

Guwahati, July 11: The Bharalumukh police rescued a 22-year-old city girl from Samastipur district of Bihar. The city police also arrested the alleged trafficker identified as Rohila Mandal (60).

As per reports, the victim, who is a resident of Athgaon under Bharalumukh Police Station,  went missing on June 30 from her residence. On July 7, the family members of the girl filed an FIR at the Bharalumukh Police Station and accordingly a case (No. 504/18 under IPC Section 342/370/511/34) was registered.

Based on the complaint, the city police tracked her mobile phone and found the network’s presence at Samastipur district of Bihar. A team of Bharalumukh police rushed to Samastipur and rescued the girl besides apprehending the alleged trafficker.

Sharing the ordeal, the victim revealed that Rohila lured her to provide a job at Rajasthan.

As per reports, Rohila is a resident of Bijoynagar, Kamrup.

Two others involved with the trafficking are still absconding and a manhunt has been launched to nab them at the earliest, according to information.
