The five day Lakme Fashion Week 2018 which is under way at Jio Garden Mumbai is all about the exclusive fashion trends, innovative apparels beaming up the runway with the country’s ace designers introducing their unique fashion story.
Like every year, Lakme Fashion Week, one’s premier fashion destination has been adding more appetite to one’s fashion bazaar. And this time it is the exotic collection of its spring-summer wear.
Day 1 saw a star studded fashion runway with the country’s leading b-town celebrities rocking the ramp giving us a fervor of how to dress up this spring.
Day 2 was all about the Northeast couture illuminating the runway.
Designers from 6 states of NE(Assam, Manipur, Sikkim, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Tripura) were seen displaying their unique collection of apparels for men and women. NE has always been in the limelight for its rich weaves right from the Assam silk to tribal textiles. This time as well all the designers bring the chic quotient back as the crowd goes crazy with the outfits simplicity yet sophisticated collection.
Assam’s Sonam Dubal showcased some of the Sualkuchi weavers making the crowd go GaGa over the collection, followed by Khumanthem of Manipur adding an extra taste to dress up the elegant lady, then there was our favourite Daniel Syiem from Meghalaya giving one a relaxed feel with going loose with some beautiful shades.
This is not over the runway also saw some beautiful collection from Nagaland by Jenjum Gadi giving the audience some of the feels from the Hills. Some headgears mixed with red shades by Aratrik Dev Varman, Tripura and finally some gorgeous collections from the organic Sikkim.
And if you assume this was it we afraid you are wrong as the former Sikkimese footballer, Bhaichung Bhutia also made an appearance dressed in a traditional Sikkimese weave gaining an applaud. The show ended with a trio dressed up in beautiful tribal outfits showcasing the rich traditional NE weaves.
Some good amount of the diverse NE fashion it was with the runway NE models knowing it better how to keep it Classy and Sassy.
