GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Friday took stock of the health condition of the senior Congress leader and former chief minister Bhumidhar Barman at a city hospital.
Barman has been admitted to Dispur hospital since Wednesday and is under treatment at ICU. He was reportedly under ventilation.
After visiting Barman, Sonowal said, “Visited former Assam CM, Dr Bhumidhar Barman at Dispur Hospital in Guwahati this morning and enquired about his health. I pray for the speedy recovery of the veteran leader and assure all necessary support for his treatment.
The former minister was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday and is under treatment at ICU. He is now under ventilation.
On Thursday, Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) chief Ripun Bora and others also paid him a visit.
Chairperson, Media Department, APCC, Bobbeeta Sharma said, “Visited veteran Congress leader Ex-CM Bhumidhar Barman in Dispur Hospital along with APCC President Ripun Bora. Barman has responded to people talking to him and is fine although he is in ICU. We wish him a speedy recovery.”
