Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on May 4th, 2019 the directed National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) to complete the construction of the four-lane national highway 37 from Numaligarh to Dibrugarh at Teok at the earliest.
During the inspection at of the ongoing construction works of the four-lane highway at Chenijan, the chief minister said, “Rainfall cannot be an excuse for the delay in construction work. It should be completed at the earliest.”
“Rainfall remains for most of the time of the year in Assam. That does not mean that we will slow down the works. The construction and repair works should go on in full swing and be completed as soon as possible,” Sonowal added.
