If you want to give back to your community but unable to zero in on how to go for it, then take Assam Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s way.
Assam Finance Minister endorsed that one should donate books and blood generously. “One powers knowledge, other life,” said Sarma after donating blood at the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital on September 14th, 2019.
To mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday on September 17th, 2019, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will observe ‘seva saptah’, or the service week from September 14th, 2019 to September 20th, 2019. During the service week, a plethora of social initiatives has been planned across the nation by the party’s cadres.
As part of the ‘seva saptah’ celebrations, the saffron party will be organising blood donation camps, free health checkup camps, distribution of food items among orphans and elderly people across the nation.
Nonetheless, blood donation is the noblest and the most precious of all gifts. It not only helps the person in need but also the donor. The timely availability of safe blood can save several human lives.
What’s a world without books? They are the best source of knowledge. And knowledge is most useful when shared.
