Guwahati: BJP National president JP Nadda alleged that the Congress party is undergoing ‘mental bankruptcy’, as it has lined up with political parties on religious lines in the current general assembly elections in the states like Assam, West Bengal and Kerela.
Addressing a public meeting at Patacharkuchi constituency on Friday, Nadda alleged that on one side CPI(M) remained to be a major ally of Congress-AIUDF-led ‘Mahajot’ in Assam and on another hand they are contesting against them in Kerela. “This exposes their mental bankruptcy, I don’t know what the Congress party is up to. Nevertheless, this election is going to be entertaining according to me,” said JP Nadda.
He also termed the Congress party as communal. “In Kerela, Congress is contesting alongside Muslim league and in Assam, they are contesting the election alongside Badruddin Ajmal-led AIUDF party which proves party’s communalism angle,” Nadda asserted.
Also, targeting former Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and his son MP Gaurav Gogoi, BJP National president JP Nadda stated that in the year 2006 when Tarun Gogoi raised a question saying “Who is Badruddin?” years later in 2021 state elections his son MP Gaurav Gogoi elucidated the fact about Badruddin in detail.
“The person who disrespected ‘Assamese Gamosa’ the pride of Assam, is Badruddin,” added Nadda.
Nadda also slammed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for allegedly claiming Ajmal as the ‘Identity of Assam’. “How can Badruddin Ajmal be declared as the identity of Assam? The identities of Assam should be Srimanta Sankardev, Gopinath Bordoloi, Bhupen Hazarika etc,” Nadda added further.
Accusing the Congress leaders further, Nadda hit out at both Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra for allegedly humiliating Assam and its tea estates by using photos of tea gardens from Taiwan and Sri Lanka in their official election campaign ‘Assam Bachao’.
Nadda also termed them as ‘Political Tourists’ of the nation.
Furthermore, Nadda assured to make Assam free from floods once the BJP government comes back to power in state.
Nadda also claimed that under the BJP government around 4000 Bodo militants have surrendered along with assault rifles before the government of Assam, thus bringing peace in Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). “This is called development,” Nadda claimed confidently.
