Jammu and Kashmir Police started to stamp the coronavirus lockdown violators as a sign of warning against people not staying indoors and venturing out.
The impression will last two weeks. Police on March 26th, 2020 stamped people in Ranbir Singh Pura area in Jammu district for violating the lockdown rules.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared a three-week nationwide lockdown starting midnight of March 24th, 2020, emphasising that it was the only way of breaking the coronavirus infection cycle.
The state governments and district administrations across the country has appealed to the people to stay indoors and maintain social distancing in order to break the chain of transmission of coronavirus.
All transport services – air, rail and roadways – will remain suspended until April 14th, 2020. Banks, ATMs, petrol pumps, pharmacies, hospitals and grocery shops will continue to function.
